Speaking of Work

I've been inspired this year by a couple of businesses started by expat women in Zürich: My Girlfriend Guide to Zürich and Nuance Words.

I've been so inspired, in fact, that I am actually writing a business plan and building a website (more on this later). I think working for myself is going to be my best option in Switzerland.  I'll keep things kosher too, by registering the company and seeking a self-employment permit.

I was a bit a daunted by the many pages of German I would have to read on business registration and permitting. But then I found a wonderful resource in English: Gründen.ch. The site is comprehensive, covering everything from contacts for legal advice to the different types of legal structures to how to register your business.
